The Program Manager manages the growth and innovation of Mass General Brigham Health Plan business for administrative services only (ASO) client account of 100K+ members and Merged Market membership via both the public exchange (Massachusetts Health Connector) and off-exchange intermediary partners. This individual develops strong business relationships with internal and external constituents, coordinates effectively within teams to implement key directives, and provides an exceptional level of program and relationship management to achieve sales and membership goals.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages all aspects of relationship and program management for self-funded clients of 100K+ members, intermediary partners, and the Massachusetts Health Connector.
  • Works with the Director of Program Management, and various cross functional teams such as Product Management, Provider Network Management, Clinical, Operations and IT to execute strategic initiatives and business plans
  • Facilitates various client / channel partner meetings and provides updates on key deliverables and activities
  • Oversees and/or coordinates Open Enrollment activities and pre /post-implementation for all membership
  • Achieves or exceeds sales and membership goals as defined by Sales management
  • Keeps management apprised of developing issues and climate affecting the Mass General Brigham Health Plan products, and the client experience
  • Participates in and represents Sales in internal and external meetings relating to special projects, including but not limited to, regulatory changes affecting the Sales department
  • Leads cross functional teams to ensure program readiness and efficiency
  • Acts as an informed resource to the intermediaries, public exchange, and broker community on matters related to the MA Merged Market.
  • Provides timely and thorough communication regarding on and off-exchange developments to internal staff and other parties
  • Conducts research to remain current with changes, innovations and developing issues within the self-funded services landscape, and the federal and state marketplaces
  • Responds to changes in regulations and makes recommendations as appropriate
  • Ensures that key external contacts are updated and trained on any MGBHP product and policy changes when required
  • Remains well versed in state insurance laws and regulations as it impacts rates, plan design and coverage
  • Develops training materials for intermediaries and delivers periodic and annual trainings for their Sales teams and brokers.
  • Hold self and others accountable to meet commitments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Project Management certification or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years in health care industry experience.
  • Knowledge of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the role of Exchanges
  • Knowledge of self-insurance arrangements in the United States whereby an employee provides health benefits to employees using the company's own funds.
  • Previous sales environment experience strongly preferred
